Event History

In February of 2005, Archdiocesan officials announced the closing of SJB School. Parents, alumni, parishioners, and friends rallied to save the school. That year we held our first “Glimmer of Hope” Auction in April where we raised over $15,000 toward the “Save the School” effort. Because of the generosity of friends like you, we successfully saved our school from closing. Though we remain open, we continue to rely on our friends to offer quality education to the children of Logan Square.

Great things are happening at St. John Berchmans School! This year, new hardwood floors were installed throughout the entire first floor of the Logan School Building. Students in both the Altgeld and Logan Campuses have been able to take advantage of our expanded After School Program which now includes both French and Mandarin language lessons as well as an Early Childhood Music Program in partnership with the Merit School of Music. In addition, five new Promethean Boards (interactive, digital white boards) have been installed, allowing us to further integrate technology and enrich the learning experiences of our students. Come visit us for a school tour for a first-hand look at what St. John Berchmans School has to offer.
