About Us

For over 100 years, SJB has been providing Parochial school students with a value based, Catholic education.
St. John Berchmans School, located in the Logan Square community in Chicago, serves PreK through 8th grade students. An academically challenging environment, a diverse learning atmosphere and faith focused teaching provide SJB students with the ability to learn without distractions and dream without limits.

Event History

The first Glimmer of Hope Auction was held in April 2005 for St. John Berchmans School. At the time, School parents held the auction in an effort to prevent the School's closing. It worked!

So many amazing things have happened since the first Glimmer of Hope Auction. Due to the generosity of friends like you, we successfully have added enrichment classes to our After School Program, expanded our curiculum and have made huge strides in updating our facilities. Though we have done incredible things, we continue to rely on the fundraising dollars raised at the Glimmer Auction to assist us in offering a quality education to the children of Logan Square.

Thanks to the kindness of donors like you, new hardwood floors have been installed throughout the entire Logan School Building. Students in both the Altgeld and Logan Campuses are taking advantage of our expanded After School Program, which now includes language lessons, Dance, Tae Kwon Do, Yoga, Chess and a robotics class in partnership with local businesses. In addtion, Promethean Boards (interactive, digital white boards) have been installed in all of our grade 1 through grade 8 classrooms, allowing us to further integrate technology into our curriculum and enrich the learning experiences of our students.
